Si Xiang-Four Symbols

Sixiang, which literally means “Four Symbols”. The Four Symbols that emerge as Yin and Yang divide and interact in more complex ways.

Four Symbols are four dynamic phases of Yin–Yang transformation. Each of the Four Symbols represents a stage in the interaction between Yin and Yang:

Shaoyin,Lesser Yin Yin growing— South, Summer, Fire

Shaoyang,Lesser Yang Yang growing— East, Spring, Wood

Taiyin,Greater Yin Yin at its peak— North, Winter, Water

Taiyang,Greater Yang Yang at its peak— West, Autumn, Metal
